It is June and we are almost at SUNcéBeat taking place in August. The Southport familys summer festival in Croazia (http://www.suncebeat.com) is at the door and I’m only writing my SOUTHPORT WEEKENDER 46 review now. It was off the hook! The best ever I personally have been blessed with. Let my try to remember  and give you a clear view of it. You can run a label or just be a music lover but when it comes to SOUTHPORT the only thing that is serious is the fun and quality music get.

We had arrived there on the Friday afternoon. The weather was friendly and it remained so until Monday. We were a gang of 13 excited househeadz – 2 of us were also exciting. I am referring to beautiful Patricia and Joana who joined us all the way from Portugal for their very first Weekender and they just loved it! The announced Line-Up was well promising and that sort of countdown on people’s status lines on Facebook days before generally increased the excitement .  In fact right after checking-in at our B&B in town we had hit the road to Pontins Holiday Centre. And trust me our expectations were more than only fulfilled at the end.

It was late afternoon and we did not go back until the next morning. The Djs – SARAH & SIMON FAVOURITIZM - ANDY WARD  – RALF GUM – GRANT NELSON – RON CARROLL – OSUNLADE and BUCIE performing “Superman” Live on Stage kept us going. Time ran fast, it literally flew by. MARLON D was missing. He has been the only victim of the volcano with the unpronouncable name. His performance actually was on my personal top 5 sets that I did not want to miss. Time schedule has been moved and we witnessed the best set of the weekend. GRANT NELSON brought down the House! On FIRE! The music was soulful through the entire weekend. Every dj a real gentleman! They kept us far from disappointments soulful headz may have at other big room events. All four of the floors were packed. BEAT BAR – POWERHOUSE – FUNK BASE and even THE CONNOISSEURS’ CORNER were hosting a total audience of 5’000 enthusiastic dancers! Of course we had the same picture on the Saturday night – Packed!!

But SOUTHPORT is more than dancing. SOUTHPORT is also chatting to same minded folks, having fun, making new friends and/or just smiling around. It is wild inside and relaxed outside. It was my fourth edition and I have finally made it to attend one of the many infamous CHALET Parties that go on. People who stay on site the three days literally sattle down in their rooms. They are well organized for their own private or after parties. Dj equipment – Drinks and people walking in and out the rooms is just normal.

Saturday afternoons legendary HOUSE SESSION only changed the name. The vibe though was just the same. Courtesy of RESTLESS SOUL family. Daddy PHIL ASHER and “Enfant Terrible” AARON ROSS together with SEAN Mc CABE Kicked ass. That is what I have been told as I did not stay more than hour. I needed to get some rest knowing of the incredible long Saturday night coming our way. And so it was. As a devoted life-long fan of "LITTLE LOUIE" VEGA and KERRI CHANDLER playing the end I was the last one walking out of PONTINS Sunday morning. It was an American affair that night. JOAQUIN "JOE" CLAUSSELL  and DJ SPEN already were blessing us with amazing music before the two Masters had come on. I did not leave the POWERHOUSE that night.

Are you still with me? Lights had gone on and we went “home” - no CHALET After Party for us. It was 8.30am when KERRI CHANDLER played his last record. He grabbed the mic and said wonderful things that only a big hearted person can think of. He was touched and we could tell he is a Family Member. Thank my friend ANGELA who is a real connoisseur and a music lover on top I can even write a little about the Sunday afternoon before I get to the OFFICIAL AFTER PARTY. DJ SPEN together with JASPER STREET COMPANY and JOHN MORALES were scheduled that afternoon to accompany and introduce the people to most awaited Live PA:  JOCELYN BROWN! Me and the whole UDM Posse missed it though. We wanted to sleep as long as possible on Sunday.

Our man MARK STONE played at the AFTER PARTY. Probably the best part of the Weekender when it comes to my personal emotions inside. What a beautiful feeling seeing my music partner and friend playing back to back with KERRI CHANDLER at such a great Event. Maybe the fact that SPW changed into a yearly event now made people show up early that Sunday night to fill and warm the FUNK BASE. The only dancefloor that is still active actually while staff members already range and remove equipment from the other rooms. Special Guest that night DUCE “WILD” MARTINEZ on stage together with the rest of the family ANDY WARDMARK STONESARAH & SIMON and of course KERRI CHANDLER.. What a wonderful WEEKENDER. JOVONN.. would end my review writing.. The rest is a “MISTERY”

I wrote it in my personal email to the main responsible people at SPW and I want to repeat here for you. Being a promoter myself I can only look up and learn from them. Line upOrganisationSound System and Decoration is a class of its own! Highest Level!

THANK YOU SarahAlex and Dave for making it another incredible event. Due credits and deserved respect also to everybody else involved making it the “Worlds Friendliest Party”

I am done - last but not least: Tickets for SPW 47 – 6/7/8 May 2011 - will be on sale from 1st September on http://www.southportweekender.co.uk
